A/Prof Naresh Kumar
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We are delighted to invite you to participate and share in the 41st Annual Scientific Meeting hosted by the Singapore Orthopaedic Association (SOA). Thanking you in anticipation for the same. The fact that many of you will be travelling considerable distances and taking time off your busy schedule serves to remind us all, how important our thought-sharing at this meeting would be.
SOA is committed to actively advancing the “Science and Art of Orthopaedic Surgery in the Republic”, in addition to promoting the relationship between SOA and the various Orthopaedic realms from around the world.
This year, our theme is ageing: ‘Challenges of the Ageing: Caring for Sufferer & Healer’.
The organizing committee has started working hard to get an exceptional programme covering the challenges of the elderly- involving the spine, osteoporotic fractures and ageing joints. The scientific programme will be packed with latest information through various symposia, debates and lectures.
The pre-meeting cadaveric workshop on lumbar spine and the post-meeting workshop on cervical spine will provide hands on experience through cadavers for surgeons who are keen to learn new surgical techniques and skills. The list of speakers will justify your involvement in the meeting.
We are honored to have Dr Michael Grevitt (UK) to deliver the ‘SOA Lecture’, A/Prof Tan Seang Beng (Singapore) to give the ‘Donald Gunn Lecture’ and Prof George Thompson (USA) to deliver the ‘N Balachandran Lecture’. All the three speakers are esteemed specialists in the field of Spine / Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery.
I encourage the participants to attend the exciting Singapore Orthopaedic Association meeting and also to extend their stay for a while, to enjoy the beautiful island city.
Finally, I hope that you meet old friends and make new friends and have a wonderful time in Singapore.
